The Bay Area Composers Big Band, made up of composers from different backgrounds and experiences, draws on the influences of jazz, funk, latin music, hip-hop, electronica, classical and avante-garde music to create a diverse array of styles. The band has only been around for two years, but in that short amount of time has already played at the Hillside Club, been featured on KCSM's "In The Moment" with Jim Bennett, played to a sold-out audience at Anna's Jazz Island in Berkeley and headlined the Whale and Jazz Festival in Gualala.
